Victors not Victims

Victors and not Victims.

Do you know someone or have you ever known individuals who has a victim mentality?  Well I have. These individuals usually view themselves as a victim in most situations that happen in their life.

Your initial reaction is to listen to their story to be able to offer encouragement and to provide a listening ear. If not careful, you will be pulled in.  What you intended was to be a compassionate listening but you then discover that you are dealing with an individual who has a victim mentality.  The begin to frequently come to you complaining about everything and everybody. I admonish you to cut it off.

You try to be a caring individual, endeavoring to show compassion, and to have long-suffering. Continue to be caring and loving but you must use wisdom as to how you can help this individual so you will not be pulled in  Be guided by the Holy Spirit of how to minister to that individual.

When an individual possess a victim mentality they usually view themselves in most situation as the person to whom injustice has been done to. They frequently feel like individuals are out to hurt them and/or treat them badly. Their constant struggles begins to become depressing and sad. If you talk to them they are so negative about everything. They constantly claim what they don't deserve or they are talking about how bad life is to them. These individuals usually make such comments like: I don't know why people don't like me, they are always treating me wrong,  nothing ever goes right for me, the devil is always fighting me, they are always talked about me, no one wants to hire me, etc, etc, etc. Whew just writing this makes me tired.

Don't get me wrong, I am not discountng the fact that these situations occur. Notice that I mentioned the word constantly allowing this to be your story.

These situations may, do and/or will happen. There are individuals who do do such things, but you are in control of your own life.  Stop being passive and taking a victim role and take on your role as Victor.  When the victim mentality becomes part of a Christian everyday, lifes' story, then you are not operating in the authority and the power that God has given you; you have become a victim. I have not read yet, in the bible, where the Lord said that will be victims. The scripture, in Romans 8:35-36, talks about the things that come against us to separate us from the love of God, but verse 37 says this: Nay in ALL these things I am MORE than a conqueror through him that loved us. I like it the way the Amplified version states this verse. Amid all these things we are more than conquerors and gain a surpassing VICTORY through him who loved us.

The kingdom of God suffer violence but the violent (You) take it by force. Stop putting up with all the attacks and harassments of the enemy. Stake claim to all the promises that are given you, by Jesus himself, in his last will and testament (the word). For it has been paid for with blood.

Today's challenge:
Say I'm not going to be a victim anymore. Devil you will not bully me. The Lord says that you are under my feet. I put on my spiritual armor and fight the good fight of faith.

Search the scriptures and find promises and confession about who you are in Christ. In doing so you will find that your attitude and confession will begin to change. Send me an email letting me know the promises you have come up with and are confessing.

You are an Victor so start acting and speaking like one starting NOW.

This has been your Word for the Day.

With Love,

Delay is not denial, but we must not sit in complacency.
It is critical that we read and study the Word of God but more importantly we must DO and apply that word to our lives.
Even small steps in the wrong direction will lead you to the wrong place.
